Being an architect and an anthropologist, my  research interest lies at the intersection of urban governance, climate change, and participatory planning. Specifically, I have been working on urban ecologies of small and medium sized cities of India. In the course of practice, I have been experimenting with ethnography, specifically multimodal tools of photography, participatory methodologies, and visual narrative building through illustrations.

 

In 2021, I received Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Mohali. During my doctoral research, I was awarded the Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Fellowship to work at University of Pennsylvania (2019-20) and Sahapedia-UNESCO fellow (2017). My work experience ranges from being an urban researcher, practitioner, and an educator.

collaboration between Abohar Municipal Corporation, Studio Aureole, and IISER Mohali in
Punjab), an Adjunct Faculty at School of Global Affairs, Ambedkar University Delhi, and
Research Assistant Department of Geography, King’s College London, London on a ESRC-
ICSSR funded project on Learning from Small Cities: Governing imagined futures in India’s
smart urban age.
